Real Audio
A proprietary digital music format from RealNetworks?. Real Audio can be "streamed" over the Internet, which is to say that it will begin playing the music before the entire file has reached the connected computer system - thus giving it a more immediate playback ability. To play Real Audio files on a standard computer system, you need to install a digital music "player" that supports the Real Audio music format.

Realtones
Audio effects which sound like radio quality music. They are, in reality, audio files which have been cut up to play as ringtones. Also known as truetones or realtunes.

Removeable Media
Memory cards that are used to store data and files. These include, Compact Flash, Smart Media, Memory Stick and SD.

Resolution
The number of pixels in an image. A higher number correlates to a higher quality image.

Return path
The method by which a viewer communicates with a broadcaster when using an interactive service, thereby enabling full two-way interactivity. For example, the return path for digital satellite subscribers is the modem within the set-top box, which is connected to the viewer's telephone line.
